Texas utility learns customers payment kiosks were compromised

December 5, 2017

TIO Networks Corp. has informed the Brownsville, Texas public utilities board that customer information from bill payment kiosks at the BPUB administration building may have been compromised, according to the Brownsville Herald.

TIO Networks Corp., which was purchased by PayPal earlier this year, notified BPUB on Nov. 27 that 800 of its customers' information was vulnerable.

Customers who made payments with an electronic check at the BPUB administration building are at risk of having their information compromised. Those who paid via cash, credit cards or debit cards at a kiosk were not affected.

Customers can call (956) 983-6121.
