The Texas Department of Transportation will require EV charging companies to include both Tesla's standard charging plug as well as the nationally recognized combined charging system, known as CCS, to participate in the state's program to electrify highways using federal funds, according to a Reuters report.
Texas becomes the first state that will mandate Tesla's charging technology.
Tesla, which dominates the EV charging station market in the U.S., already qualifies for federal funding for EV charging stations.
