El Paso, Texas residents can get free COVID-19 tests at kiosks throughout the city, beginning today, according to a ktsm.com report.

The kiosks, most of which are open 24/7, are free for all persons who have symptoms, have been exposed or are at high risk.

The city has sponsored the kiosks in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Increasing Community Access to Testing program.

Residents can register online or use the registration app by scanning a QR code on the machine. Once registered, residents can scan their QR confirmation code and the kiosk will dispense a test kit.

The user collects the specimen using a nasal swab, then drops the sample in the collection box. The samples are picked up daily for testing and results are texted or emailed within 48 hours.
