Tesla EV charging stations to qualify for federal subsidies

The Biden administration has decided to provide federal subsidies to Tesla EV charging stations providing they carry the country's own fast-charging standard for electric vehicles, according to a Quartz report.

The White House on Friday said EV charging stations using Tesla's standard plugs will be eligible for billions in federal subsidies if they combine with the combined charging system most EV makers use.

This marks the first time the administration has explicitly included Tesla in its $7.5 billion plan to install charging stations on 7,500 miles of the nation's busiest highways.
