BRAUNSCHWEIG, Germany - German kiosk manufacturer Termimac Informationssysteme, which specializes in developing Apple-based information kiosks systems, has launched a new product line incorporating Apple's iMac computer.
The termimac IV is designed as either a standalone or rolling unit using either a touchscreen monitor or a keyboard. The company envisions the unit in retail and information situations, and will market it to trade shows and sporting events as well as commercial outlets. Termimac spokesman Dietmar Bach said 30 units have been commissioned in Germany since the line was launched on April 1.
Bach said the unit would provide a less-expensive alternative to upscale kiosk enclosures while offering the consistency of Apple computers. The rolling unit markets for $2,650, while the standalone unit is priced at $3,100. The company said delivery could be made within 6-to-8 weeks of initial consultation.
