Tempus Software teams with Galvanon on medical kiosk

November 30, 2005

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Tempus Software has released TempusOne MediKiosk, which automates the patient check-in process through kiosk technology. According to a news release, Tempus signed a reseller agreement with Galvanon of Maitland, Fla., to remarket the company's popular MediKiosk application. MediKiosk also features real-time integration with TempusOne Enterprise Scheduling enabling demographic, appointment detail and patient history information to automatically be pre-populated for the patient check-in process.

"By combining our self-service functionality with TempusOne's industry-leading scheduling and pre-registration software, patients will experience shorter wait times and have less paperwork to complete at every visit, resulting in increased levels of satisfaction and loyalty for the organization," said Raj Toleti, chief executive officer of Galvanon. "This effective and integrated solution also increases staff productivity, helping to drive out costs from these front-end processes, increase patient throughput and enhance the revenue cycle."

TempusOne MediKiosk streamlines the patient check-in process for appointments. It reduces patient wait times and eliminates paper forms. Wireless kiosks are provided to patients at check-in instead of a paper clipboard. Patients swipe a driver's license or credit card and enter a date of birth to access their records. The system displays appointment details for the day of service and asks the patient to verify demographic and patient history information captured during scheduling. Patients can complete and sign consent forms electronically and even make co-payments directly through the kiosk. Hospital staff is alerted to the patient check-in and can verify completion and accuracy of the required information.
