Amerigroup Nevada members can reach doctors remotely with LiveHealth Online via desktops, mobile devices, or a LiveHealth Online MedSuite Kiosk, according to a press release.
LiveHealth Online provides remote doctor visits for non-emergency needs 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Members can use a webcam, smartphone or tablet to have a live video chat with a doctor, or use the kiosk, which is equipped with a digital thermometer, blood pressure monitor and dermatoscope. The kiosk is available to members in southern Nevada, according to the release.
"LiveHealth Online is just one of many ways Amerigroup is making healthcare more convenient for our members in Nevada," Dr. Richard Roberts, medical director of Amerigroup Nevada, said in the release. "We all know how important it is to quickly talk to a doctor when you or your child is sick or feeling pain. LiveHealth Online offers a secure way for our members to use their benefits and contact a board-certified doctor via their computer, smartphone or tablet."
LiveHealth Online is designed to help reduce the burden on primary care doctors, according to the release. Doctors who participate in LiveHealth Online do not prescribe for controlled substances.
"LiveHealth Online represents a true shift in healthcare delivery by using technology to make healthcare easier and more user friendly," John Jesser, VP of provider engagement strategy for LiveHealth Online, said in the release.
