Residents in Newton County, Georgia, will soon be able to renew their vehicle tags at a kiosk. Newton County commissioners have teamed with Intellectual Technology Inc. and Kroger to deploy the kiosk, according to a report by the Newton Citizen.
The kiosk features a touchscreen that provides step-by-step instructions. Once the user completes the process, the kiosk will print a registration certificate, renewal decal and other necessary documents.
Residents in 23 participating counties in the state can use the kiosk to renew their tags, paying with a credit or debit card or cash at the kiosk. Users must also pay a convenience fee of $3.95 for up to 10 transactions, according to the report.
Newton County Tax Commissioner Barbara Dingler has been attempting to bring a kiosk to the county since 2015. The kiosk should be deployed at Kroger within the next 90 days, according to Dingler.
