Supply chain management firm launches self-service apps

TECSYS, a supply chain management software company, has created self-service and mobility solutions for workers on-the-go, according to a company press release. Among other products, the company has released a supply management system, a kiosk and a mobile platform.

Supply Management System

The concept of a walk-in inventory store, where users can walk in, pick up what they need, scan it and walk out and it is automatically refilled, is what TECSYS' SMS is all about, according to the release.

TECSYS' Supply Management System, or SMS, addresses the needs of self-distribution supply chain at point-of-use for such industries as Healthcare, Utilities, Education, Municipalities, Maintenance and Repair Operations (MROs) and general businesses. TECSYS' SMS provides clear visibility and accessibility of supplies anywhere in a distribution network. It also automates replenishment based on real consumption, captures item usage while significantly reducing cost as well as cash tied up in inventory, according to the company press release.

User compliance is often the primary challenge at point-of-use, and TECSYS' SMS uses touchscreen technology to facilitate ease of access to information with the least amount of intervention leading to significantly improved user adoption. The supply chain process at point-of-use is completely automated. Product information is captured via barcode and stored in the TECSYS system, enabling purchasing organizations to track usage, reorder to minimums and plan the demand accordingly.

Customer Self-Service Kiosk
TECSYS' Customer Self-Service Kiosk (CSK) is similar to the self check-in kiosk at airports. It allows busy customers to walk into a supplier's outlet, get the products they need, and get back to their busy schedule, with virtually no delays, according to the release.

Through its touchscreen, a distributor's customers can quickly access their orders for pick up.

Mobile Delivery Management
TECSYS' Mobile Delivery Management (MDM) solution is an event tracking and delivery management, mobile system for fleet and internal delivery management. It enables distribution organizations to create, pick up and deliver shipments directly from a handheld mobile device. It offers customers real-time, online traceability of shipments similar to the functionality offered by major international parcel shipping organizations.

TECSYS' MDM extends the load building and shipping functionality inherent in the distribution center, and allows for end-to-end visibility of all phases of the shipment through a service-centric portal.
