Summit releases new kiosk report

May 2, 2002

ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Kiosk consulting firm Summit Research Associates Inc. has released what it is calling its most comprehensive report ever on the kiosk industry, covering 34 countries and more than 210 kiosk-related companies.

The publication, Kiosks and Internet Technology, is the company's flagship report. Now in its fourth edition, the report looks at recent trends in the kiosk industry and provides projections for Internet kiosk installed bases and revenues through 2005.

The report predicts steady growth over the next couple years, followed by a greater expansion of kiosks in 2004 and 2005. There were 312,000 installed kiosks worldwide in 2001, according to the report, with the number projected to grow to 548,000 in 2005.

The report comes in at 460 pages, about 100 pages longer than last year's report, according to Summit president and founder Francie Mendelsohn. The report includes 35 charts and tables covering crucial kiosk issues.

Kiosks and Internet Technology costs $1,395, with a discount available to Kiosks.org Association members. The report is available as a PDF file e-mailed by Summit upon payment, and on a CD-ROM.
