Star Micronics offers range of Bluetooth printing solutions

International POS printer manufacturer Star Micronics has extended its range of iOS and Android compatible mobile and desktop printers to offer a portfolio of Bluetooth POS printing solutions and accessories.

International POS printer manufacturer Star Micronics has extended its range of iOS and Android compatible mobile and desktop printers to offer a portfolio of Bluetooth POS printing solutions and accessories. The extension is in response to customer demand to print labels, tickets and kitchen orders from mobile devices, the company said in an announcement.

Star now offers 80mm and 112mm receipt, label and ticketing Bluetooth desktop printing solutions and model SP700BTi to provide a matrix Bluetooth desktop printer for hospitality, in conjunction with a range of Bluetooth mobile printers.

Designed for integrating wireless handheld devices into POS solutions, Star Bluetooth desktop and mobile printers offer compatibility with iOS, resulting from Apple Inc’s MFi (Made for iPhone, iPad, iPod) certification. The printers also support the Bluetooth SPP protocol that enables integration with other common operating systems. 

Star's technology is also utilized to develop reader/writer systems for visual/smart and magnetic stripe cards and to install print mechanisms in multimedia kiosk environments.
