Star Micronics intros serial cable adapter

Star Micronics America Inc., a manufacturer of mobile, point-of-sale and customer engagement technologies, has introduced a serial cable adapter for select models of its 2D barcode scanner line, according to a press release. The cable adapter gives retailers and business owners using PCs as part of their POS systems access to Star Micronics' scanners.

The serial cable kit is available for Star Micronic's BSH-HR2081 handheld USB wired scanner and BSD-FR4080 high-resolution desktop scanner.

Star Micronics' IP-rated scanner line includes desktop, handheld and wireless handheld models.
