January 20, 2022

A St. Louis County, Missouri lawmaker is trying to halt legislation to build more electric vehicle charging infrastructure, according to a Missouri Independent report.

Both the St. Louis city and county governments passed laws requiring businesses to prepare for EV charging, including requirements for residential buildings.

Brentwood in St. Louis County requires new and renovated homes to have EV charging infrastructure.

State Rep. Jim Murphy, a St. Louis County Republican, is calling for legislation requiring any city or county that requires businesses to have EV charging to pay for it.
