Square working on more streamlined POS terminal

Square is creating an iPad point-of-sale terminal to allow shoppers to more easily tap and pay for purchases, according to a Bloomberg report.

The current Square Stand, introduced in 2013, has a magnetic stripe reader but needs an external device for phone payments or tap-and-pay credit cards. The version being developed integrates the tap-and-pay technology into the terminal for a more seamless process.
