Sports betting on the way in Kentucky

Legal sports betting is on the way in Kentucky after the state senate approved a bill Thursday, according to a wcep.com report.

Kentucky will join 36 other states that allow legal sports betting once Gov. Andy Beshear signs the bill as expected. The bill allows Kentucky horse tracks to offer retail sports books and partner with online sports betting sites.

The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission will oversee the industry and will have six months to develop the rules.
