Spokane to deploy parking meters that accept card payment

Motorists in downtown, Spokane, Washington will soon have parking meters that accept credit and debit cards under a newly approved $1.8 million contract, according to a krem.com report.

The contract will help purchase 880 single-space and 205 dual-space parking meters and will add more meters to the paid parking zone.

The installation of more meters is expected to save the city $500,000. The installations are expected to be completed by the fall.
