The City of Spokane has initiated the activation of updated parking kiosks within the North Bank area, a move designed to replace the previously installed individual on-street parking meters, according to a Spokane City report. These solar-powered devices are strategically placed throughout the designated parking zones and offer an expanded range of payment options to accommodate user preferences.

In addition to traditional payment methods accepted directly at the kiosk, the system integrates with the ParkMobile mobile payment application, providing a contactless alternative. Users are required to accurately input their vehicle license plate number and the corresponding zone number, which is clearly indicated on signage and begins with the digit 8 for city-managed zones. Parking enforcement personnel utilize license plate scanning technology to verify payment status, ensuring efficient monitoring and management of parking compliance.

In the event of a kiosk malfunction, users are directed to utilize the ParkMobile application as an alternative payment method or to report the technical issue to Spokane 311 via phone call, using the provided contact numbers. The city's implementation of this updated system aims to enhance overall parking accessibility, convenience and efficiency for both residents and visitors within the North Bank district.
