Spokane installs parking meters

Spokane, Washington today will begin installing single and dual space on-street parking kiosks in the city's downtown, according to a press release.

The kiosks will accept credit/debit cards, coin and mobile payments, and will offer users more information on the devices, including time status, payment instructions and reservation information.

Most of the new meters will be "dual-space," one for every two spaces as opposed to the previous one per space.

Most on-street parking meters outside the downtown will be replaced with kiosks for every six to eight parking spaces.
