South Korean restaurants, bars use payment kiosks

More than 80,000 restaurants and bars used unmanned payment kiosks in South Korea, according to the 2024 Service Industry Survey Results, MSN reported.

That's more than a 17% increase from 68,000 in 2023. One in 10 of all bars and restaurants in the country are using the payment kiosks.

The increase is attributed to those who are self-employed seeking to reduce labor costs, as well as shop owners citing labor cost reduction.
