South Dakota installs vehicle renewal kiosks

Residents of South Dakota can renew vehicle registrations at 10 DMV kiosks being installed statewide, according to a Daily Leader report.

In addition to the 10 new kiosks, the DMV has replaced 10 kiosks which were previously in use. Kiosks are now available in Madison, Aberdeen, Brookings, Huron, Mitchell, Mobridge, Pierre, Pine Ridge, Rosebud, Spearfish, Vermillion, Watertown, five in Sioux Falls and three in Rapid City.

Users scan their driver's license and can complete the transaction using a credit card or debit card.

The state wanted to make the renewal process available without requiring a visit to a county government office.
