"Solar trees," large parasol-shaped structures with solar panels that generate electricity, could soon join the EV charging scene, according to a MyLondon report.
The structures, made by Solar Botanic Trees based in London, are designed for shopping centers, airport car parks and exhibition centers to charge EV vehicles, along with phones and laptops.
One structure can reportedly generate enough power to meet the needs of a three-room house, while multiple trees can be linked to form a mini-grid.
The first structures will be available by the middle of next year, focusing on EV vehicle charging.
