EVERSON, Wash. - In the wake of terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., on Sept. 11, SMO MultiMedia Corp. (Pink Sheets:SKLK) has outlined plans for adding security information to its line of E-station airport terminal kiosks.
The E-station system will now include at least two screens dedicated to safety information, evacuation locations, and new airport security rules. The system was initially designed to incorporate concourse information, services and gift-card programs linked to airport shopping centers. A date has not been announced for launching the system.
"We plan to work closely with airline and airport executives, federal agencies and security offices to incorporate into our kiosks any tools or technology that could be useful in deterring further terrorist attacks and providing public service announcements to passengers," Robert Pratt, SMO chief executive officer, said in a news release.
SMO also announced it would reschedule a luncheon at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City to discuss the E-station line. The luncheon, sponsored by the Interline Sales/Marketing Association of New York, was to have taken place Sept. 11.
