SMO Multimedia in deal to acquire iNetShelves

March 17, 2002

EVERSON, Wash. - SMO MultiMedia Corp., which is planning to roll out a series of kiosks in airports and shopping malls, has signed a letter of intent to purchase application service provider iNetShelves and has also entered into a joint venture agreement with the company.

The companies will begin cross-promotional strategies immediately, according to a SMO news release. It said the joint venture agreement will be finalized at an unspecified future date, once due diligence is completed.

The iNetShelves technology focuses on linking inventory and point-of-sale databases with supply chain management systems. SMO plans to link the technology together with its airline and shopping mall kiosks to allow customers an easier retail experience.

"We shared the same philosophy and vision and we believe that our distribution channels and the iNetSheleves technology will separate us from any competition," said Robert J. Pratt, SMO chief executive officer, in a press release.

SMO also has a merger pending with Skytalk Communications Inc. (OTC Pink Sheets:SKLK), a Vancouver, British Columbia-based publisher of Canadian airport magazines and directories. In late August, the company announced it had entered a strategic partnership with ClipACoupon.com Inc., to offer that company's coupons through its kiosks.
