SMARTMedia to make Fort Collins info kiosk

March 25, 2002

DANVILLE, Calif. - SMARTMedia Partners will create software for the City of Fort Collins, Colo.'s two new information kiosks. The machines, to be designed and manufuactured by Arral Industries of Ontario, Calif., will be located in a new city building that has no receptionist or information booth.

The kiosks will serve as an electronic help desk, and will feature an interactive map as well as general information about Fort Collins. Additional features include an attract loop, custom interface, virtual tour, telephone auto-dial, restricted Internet access and printer. An attract loop is a message that entices people to begin using the kiosk. It can be a series of screens, video, or other media. In the future, the kiosk will be upgraded to handle transactions via a card reader and bill acceptor.

Arral will also supply and integrate all hardware and peripherals.

From June 25 to June 26, SMARTMedia and Arral will participate in California's Sixth Annual School-to-Career Academy: Collaborating for Academic Excellence, "The Future is Now" at the Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa in Palm Desert. SMARTMedia will demonstrate custom software for touchscreen kiosks for education, which will be displayed on kiosks developed by Arral Industries.

SMARTMedia Partners develops touchscreen kiosks, Web sites, educational CD-ROMs, video productions, public service announcements and commercials and online curriculum for educational institutions, organizations and government agencies.
