Slovenia McDonald’s deploys service robots

Commercial service robots producer Pudu Robotics has teamed with McDonald's in Slovenia to deploy robots to assist restaurant staff with serving food and perform other duties, according to a press release.

Through its local exclusive partner Arona, the Chinese robotics company has also worked with other partners across multiple industries to expand its presence in Poland, the Netherlands, the U.K. and other European countries. The robots are deployed across gas stations, retail electronics outlets, restaurants, hotels and other sites.

In addition to lower cost and higher efficiency, the robots also reduced person-to-person interaction and thus the risk of virus transmission.
