Airlines at Singapore's Changi Airport will receive financial support from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore to invest in self-service technology at the transportation hub.
The CAAS has set up a $2 million fund to help carriers defray some of the costs involved in deploying new technology that includes self-service check-in kiosks, boarding pass printing and luggage tag printing, according to straitstimes.com.
CAAS initiative was announced by Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew at an industry event, where he also announced that another $10 million has been set aside to fund new ideas to improve the process of loading baggage onto single-aisle planes.
