The four major candidates for governor of Rhode Island met in debate and wrangled over installing kiosks at the Division of Motor Vehicles to address the hours-long lines of consumers seeking to renew their licenses, according to The Providence Journal.
Rhode Island’s lines are the longest in New England except for Connecticut.
Republican candidate John F. Robitaille says he would try several strategies, including installing self-service kiosks, and pay for it with DMV profits as the division makes money for the state.
