Short notice rules out touchscreens in Miami-Dade

Sun-Sentinel.com: MIAMI -Miami-Dade has ruled out replacing its 7,200 touchscreen voting machines with paper ballots and optical scan equipment by the November general election. Miami-Dade County Manager George Burgess says the short notice makes the switch impossible. Even critics agree that were the machines replaced, there would not be enough time to educate voters, poll workers and county employees on using a new system. Read more Â…
