According to Silicon.com, five former BT red phone boxes are being turned into life-saving kiosks, with BT (formerly British Telecom) funding the installation of defibrillators in the former phone booths.
The first kiosk to get a defibrillator is located in the village of Lower Slaughter in Gloucestershire, and it's the 1,500th red phone box to be adopted by a local community for £1 under BT's three-year-old "Adopt a Kiosk" program.
BT has been working with the Community Heartbeat Trust, a charity that provides defibrillators to communities, on installing defibrillators in former phone boxes.
