Volusia County, Florida, drivers may renew their vehicle registration and receive decals at select Publix grocery stores, according Fox 35 Orlando. The kiosks in DeLand, Edgewater, Ormond Beach and Port Orange provide an alternative to visiting a branch office, allowing residents to complete simple renewals while shopping.

"These kiosks give our customers more flexibility and help reduce wait times in our branches," Tax Collector Will Roberts said. "If you're already at the store, you can take care of a simple renewal on your own schedule and be on your way in minutes."

To use the kiosks, drivers need either their registration renewal notices with the PIN or their license plate numbers and the first registered owner's date of birth. The machines accept credit cards only.

The service is available to all Florida residents, though it is limited to renewals that do not require a new license plate, do not have certain suspensions and do not involve specific required forms. The kiosks cannot be used for complex vehicles, such as boats or mobile homes.

A $4.50 service fee is charged per transaction, along with a 2.3% credit card processing fee.
