Qylur Security Systems, a Silicon Valley-based homeland security technology, announced commercial availability of the Qylatron Entry Experience Solution — an automated, self-service security-screening kiosk for sports and entertainment venues, monuments and transportation hubs.
The Qylatron offers comprehensive large-venue security screening, replacing manual-driven alternatives. The Qylatron expedites and upgrades a venue's security by performing five concurrent bag scans with patented, multi-threat detection that employs the fusion of multiple sensors. In addition, the Qylatron checkpoint requires only 450 square feet — freeing valuable real estate for venues to support retail stands and other business interests, the announcement said.
The system was successfully tested at Liberty State Park, a Rio de Janeiro airport, and a U.S. stadium. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security recently granted Qylur its Support Anti-Terrorist by Fostering Technologies (SAFETY) Act designation, paving the way for commercial deployments of the Qylatron, the first of which is expected in early 2014.
"We deeply care about security and about human liberty. Our goal is to not just deliver the most advanced security-screening technology, but to also transform the industry so that our fundamental social beliefs and civil liberties never have to be compromised by the ultimate need for unprecedented security to protect our freedom," said Lisa Dolev, CEO and founder of Qylur. "We have put every ounce of our drive and passion to deliver groundbreaking technology and an extraordinary engineering design to help our customers offer the best available security and user experience, while respecting the personal privacy and the dignity of their guests."
