Seiko Instruments changes name to hit thermal-printer markets

TORRANCE, Calif. — Seiko Instruments USA Inc., Micro Printer Division, has changed its name to Seiko Instruments USA Inc., Thermal Printer Division. Seiko Instruments is an equipment manufacturer for thermal-printer mechanisms and has sought business in the self-service/kiosk market. The name change acknowledges the company's increasingly broad customer base.
"We see strong opportunities in the mobile and self-service markets," said Bob Falco, manager of Seiko Instruments, Thermal Printer Division.
