Seiko adds new thermal printer

TORRANCE, Calif. - Seiko Instruments USA Inc. Micro Printer Division has a new thermal printer available for kiosks.

The KPU-S347 ($600 US) measures 132mm x 140mm and features a paper presenter, programmable paper retractor and variable paper width. It can use paper sizes between two and three inches wide. The printer subassembly accepts different paper stocks and paper rolls up to 9 inches in diameter positioned horizontally or vertically. The paper retractor can retrieve untaken receipts and tickets and dispose of them into an internal receptacle within a user-programmed time limit.

The thermal printer has a print speed of up to 200 mm/second and print resolution of 8 dots/mm. The device uses low power (24-volts DC). The package includes printer mechanism, controller board, auto paper cutter and cabling.
