Scotland container recycling program to offer reverse vending machines

A food coop in West Kilbride, Scotland has applied for a reverse vending machine to support the government's container recycling program, according to a largsandmillportnews.com report.

The plan, scheduled to begin in August, will require customers to make a 20-pence deposit and receive money in exchange for returning an empty container at the machine or at a retail shop.

The food coop is the first in the area to apply for a machine, which would be placed outside the store.
