Schools, universities offered free event log software for networks, including kiosks

March 5, 2009

ATLANTA — Dorian Software Creations, Inc. is offering free licensing to schools, colleges and universities for its patented Total Event Log Management Suite.
According to a news release, event log management software provides a way to monitor and audit the health and security of networks that are often crowded with staff machines, public kiosks, library machines and computer labs. These computers come with a number of security risks, because they are usually in high-traffic public areas and often contain a wealth of personal data.
While most academic licensing programs are limited to discounted pricing or software with limited functionality, Dorian's academic offering is limited only by the number of licenses provided at no charge, according to the release. Dorian is offering one free five-server license pack of the Total Event Log Management Suite — including Event Alarm, Event Archiver, Event Analyst, and Event Rover — at no charge to any academic institution.
The retail value of this offering is over $1,000, according to the release. Interested institutions need only visit the company's Web site for full terms regarding the offer.
