SATO, a provider of auto-ID and labeling solutions, has launched a wide format label printer in the North American market, according to a press release.
The SG112-ex series has served the transport and logistics, manufacturing, chemical, automotive, retail and supply chain applications in Japan, and will now be available in North America.
The SG-112-ex utilizes thermal transfer and direct thermal printing in continuous or tear-off operation. Replacing the SATO M10e wide format label printer, the SG112-ex has applications in stock management, multi-part shipping labels and GHS labeling for chemicals.
Labels are visible from a greater distance, making information quicker and simpler to communicate in fast-paced production environments. Previous testing has shown a 60% increase in process efficiency when compared to traditional 4-inch label print machines.
The SG112-ex makes it possible for print widths up to 10.5 inches and print speeds of up to 6 ips without having to rotate the image. The unit is equipped with a 305 dpi thermal print head. Multiple standard interface options and multi-language LCD display provide ease of use among different installations and users.
