Satellite Enterprises buys global rights to news kiosks

NORTH HAVENS, Conn. -- Satellite Enterprises Corp. has agreed to acquire Satellite Newspapers Suisse. With this transaction, Satellite Enterprises Corp. acquires the worldwide rights for the distribution of the satellite newspaper kiosk and its content throughout the world.

Previously, Satellite Enterprises Corp. only had the North, Central and South American rights to the kiosk and its content, according to a news release.

Roy Piceni, chief executive officer of Satellite Newspapers Suisse, said in the release, "The addition of the worldwide distribution rights of the satellite newspaper kiosk and its unique content distribution technology will make Satellite Enterprises Corp. the leader of international newspaper distribution on demand."

The kiosks print the latest editions of more than 138 major syndicated newspaper titles from around the world. A user selects the desired newspaper using a touchscreen, and then views targeted advertising videos displayed on the screen while the complete newspaper prints out.
