San Diego plans to install EV charging stations in more than 400 public parking lots, including every park, beach, library and recreation center, according to a report in The San Diego Union-Tribune.
City officials want to establish a regional charging network to make it easier for residents to own an EV and plan to hire a private vendor to complete installations within two years of signing the contract.
Officials said the installations will enable the city to have EVs account for at least a quarter of its driving by 2035.
