Samsung Electronics Co. has launched a kiosk in South Korea that includes security and hygiene features as the technology provider enters the self-service kiosk amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to a Korea Herald report.

The unit, Samsung Kiosk, allows consumers to select, order and pay for products at restaurants and retail locations.

The company said its first self-serve kiosk will be available globally in the first half of the year, and that it signed an agreement with Fiserv Inc. to sell the kiosk.

The kiosk has a 24-inch touchscreen and is available freestanding, wall mounted on table mounted.
The touchscreen is coated with an antibacterial film and has been certified by Underwriters Laboratories in the U.S.

The kiosk can be managed remotely in real time.
