Samsung enters new markets with TFT LCD active displays

SAN JOSE, Calif. -

Samsung designed the 10.4-inch panel with SVGA capability to capture markets such as kiosks, factory automation and entertainment that require the smaller panels with higher resolution and increased brightness. For the larger ultra high-resolution applications, Samsung offers the 17-inch SXGA. Both panels will be available January 2001.

To break into new market segments, Samsung forged relationships with three key distributors: All American, Jaco and Reptron. These alliances provide supporting components, engineering and consultation to reduce design time, as well as passing volume purchase savings to their customers.
