LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. - For families with young children, summer regularly means trips to the amusement park. This summer, more families will have a chance to experience SafeTZone Technologies' child safety system. SafeTZone has expanded the number of parks using the system from one to four.
The kiosk-based system will be available at Wild River Waterpark in Irvine, Calif., where it was utilized last year. The program has been expanded to Wet `n Wild water parks in Orlando, Fla., and Las Vegas, and at Dolly's Splash Country in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.
Families that utilize the service are given wrist bands to wear around the park. If family members get separated, they can trace their group's whereabouts by scanning the bracelet at SafeTZone kiosks located throughout the park. The wrist bands usually cost $2 or $3 for a day at the park.
