WEST CHESTER, Pa. -- MEI, developer of electronic payment systems, announced that its bill acceptor has been integrated into SafePak Corp.'s PayStation Mini-Vault bill payment kiosk.
The PayStation Mini-Vault is a self-pay kiosk that accepts payments for rent, self-storage, utilities, and other bill payments 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The PayStation Mini-Vault can accept cash, credit cards and checks, and print an immediate receipt to the user, according to a news release.
The MEI bill acceptor validates all U.S. currency from $1 to $100, and locks the currency inside a steel cassette until it is picked up by armored carrier or other cash-collection service. Credit card transactions are handled in real time for immediate credit to the owner's account, the release said. A high-speed modem sends payment data to a central office computer at any remote location.
"Apartment complexes and other businesses are demanding more convenient ways for their customers to pay their bills," said Buzz Siler, president of Portland-based SafePak. "With the PayStation unit, businesses no longer need to employ an on-site cashier or bill payment office, and customers can pay any time of the day or night."
The weatherproof, 3/16" steel housing can be mounted directly to the floor, onto a matching steel pedestal, or through the wall. Double deadbolt locks provide increased security, according to the release.
