A disabled man in Sacramento named Marco Rodriguez faced parking violations when he was unable to properly pay for parking at the kiosk due to the screen being too high. Rodriguez attempted to pay to park, but was unable to see the screen, according to a report by CBS Sacramento.
According to disability guidelines, kiosks must be no taller than 48-inches to be compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The city claims all its kiosks are compliant, but CBS Sacramento measured the kiosk and found it was 60-inches tall.
The news station also found several other kiosks that were too tall. Rodriguez plans to appeal to the city councilman to make the kiosks ADA compliant.
