Rove, a Costa Mesa, California-based developer of electric vehicle charging centers, has broken ground an EV charging center in Santa Ana, California, that will include 40 fast-charging stations, a grab-and-go market, car wash, 24-hour lounge, free Wi-Fi and restrooms, according to an elecktrek.co report.
The company, which has received funding from Newlight Partners, will build six locations in Southern California starting in 2023, according to a company press release. Each center will host 40 direct-current fast chargers capable of reaching speeds up to 350 kW — making a full charge possible in as little as 15 minutes.
Charging centers will feature a market with all-natural and organic meals and grocery options, a car wash, restrooms, free Wi-Fi, a lounge and a patio.
By integrating onsite solar panels and battery storage, sites will supplement the use of electricity from the grid during peak times and support more sustainable energy use.
The company plans to open 20 locations by 2026.
