ROC, an American-made provider of multimodal biometrics and Vision AI, announced Thursday that its latest face recognition algorithm achieved top global marks for accuracy and speed in the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Face Recognition Vendor Test, according to a press release.

The results solidify ROC's position as a leading U.S. solution for identity verification, securing the top Western vendor rank across multiple key benchmarks, including border security, investigative search and high-throughput identification.

ROC was named the top Western Vendor for Investigative Search and the top Western Vendor for Visa-Border Verification, ranking third globally in the latter. It also secured the second spot as Western Provider for large-scale identification, demonstrating the ability to search a 12-million-person database in 1.45 seconds on modest hardware.

"NIST FRTE is the most rigorous and respected global benchmark for face recognition," Dr. Brendan Klare, chief scientist and co-founder of ROC, said in the release. "This achievement reflects more than a decade of focused research and development here in the United States."

The company highlighted that its algorithm's consistency across verification, identification and investigative search scenarios is what makes it a trusted solution for its partners.
