Rivian Automotive Inc., an Irvine, California based EV manufacturer, has signed an agreement with Tesla to provide Rivian drivers access to Tesla's Supercharger EV charging network across the U.S. and Canada, according to a press release.

An adapter will be available to enable Rivian's R1T and R1S to charge on the Supercharger network as early as spring 2024. The company will incorporate North American Charging Standard charge ports as standard in future R1 vehicles starting in 2025, as well as in its upcoming R2 platform.

"It's great to see the industry coming together to adopt the North American Charging Standard," Rebecca Tinucci, Tesla's senior director of charging infrastructure, said in the press release. "We look forward to welcoming Rivian owners to thousands of our Superchargers across North America."
