RFID, kiosks integrated for child-locator system

June 20, 2004

Going to the amusement park this summer but worried the kids might wander off? SAMSys Technologies Inc. is trying to set your mind at ease.

SAMSys has integrated its RFID readers into the SafeTzone Technologies System. Using the system, a family or group begins their amusement-park experience by registering their group through the SafeTzone RegiStation software, which is RFID-enabled.

Family members can scan their SafeTzone Locator-about the size of a watch-with an RFID reader at The SafeTzone LocationStation kiosks located around the park. The map that appears on the LocationStation screen shows the location of each family or group member as well as the many amenities and their location throughout the park.

The Cashless Spending Module or "electronic wallet" component of the application allows the SafeTzone Locator to be used as a debit card so money doesn't get lost, wet or stolen. The SafeTzone system allows park guests to have a worry free day and enjoy their park visit.

Among the amusement parks using the SafeTzone System are Wild Rivers in Irvine, California; Palace Entertainment's Wet 'n Wild in Las Vegas, and Dolly's Splash Country in Tennessee.
