Reverse vending machines deployed in Latvia

Tomra Collection Latvia,a Latvian subsidiary of Tomra Systems, the Norwegian manufacturer of collection and sorting equipment for automated collection of used beverage containers, has deployed the first five of 800 reverse vending machines to be deployed in Latvia, according to a Baltic Times report.

The machines been placed at Remo, Alko Outlet, Maxima, Rimi and Mego stores in Riga, and at a Citro store in Ventspils.

The machines will become operable in February when the packaging deposit system becomes active.
