Retec launches product-finder software

LETCHWORTH, U.K. -- Retec Europe has introduced a new software product to add to its growing portfolio of retail applications.

Product Finder enables consumers to locate any product within a store in just two easy steps, according to a news release. A touchscreen menu provides quick-find, category-find and text-find search options, each of which produces an easy-to-view map of the store.

Retailers can update the application as merchandise changes are made. Product Finder is most suited to supermarkets and discount outlets, in which a large, diverse range is stocked.

The application runs on a 15-inch touchscreen, and can be used in conjunction with other Retec Europe products.

Research shows that staff within large stores spends the majority of the day helping consumers find products, according to the release.
