Retail Automated Concepts, based in La Jolla, California, has developed an interactive kiosk to sell products that require regulatory compliance, including CBD and hemp products, according to the company's website.

RAC kiosks hold 188 products and dispense products that require age verification and other compliance requirements in an unattended retail environment.

The kiosk comes with a digital touchscreen that can educate customers about the product, and can display advertising and allow the operator to generate additional revenue.

Before the consumer makes a purchase, the touchscreen requires three age verifications. The screen asks if the customer is over 21. There is also a driver's license reader and a facial recognition camera.

The touchscreen invites the user to have the invoice sent via email or text, then dispenses the product through the delivery chute. The transaction is completed in less than a minute.

The products are dispensed in a box that has an RFID tag that connects the box to the machine's product inventory, helping to reduce product shrinkage.

The machines support cashless transactions that allow the user to purchase with a payment card, mobile phone, smart watch or other device. The technology also supports rewards programs and discounts.

The machine also has a menu board attached to display products.
